Kites
Single-liners
1. Ensure that the wind is blowing away from the flyer towards the kite.
2. Unroll at least 20 m of line.
3. When your helper lets go of the kite, take two paces backwards and pull firmly on the line.
4. Keep the kite braced to the wind by pulling on the line or walking backwards. The kite will then climb, and you can lengthen or shorten the line at any time.
Stunt kites – Launch with helper
1. Unroll at least 20 m of line - ensuring that both lines are of the
same length (fix the lines with the clip on the handle), and that the
wind is blowing away from you and towards the kite.
2. When the helper lets go of the kite, take two paces backwards and pull firmly on both lines.
3.
Keep the kite braced to the wind by pulling on the lines or by walking
backwards. The kite will then climb, and you can lengthen or shorten the
lines at any time.
Stunt flight
To perform the basic figures, pull gently on the left-hand handle (turn
to the left) or the right-hand handle (turn to the right). When you have
just performed a left turn, pull gently on the right-hand handle in
order to come out of the turn. Make gentle, controlled movements. As far
as possible, keep the hands at waist height and at 1/2 m distance.
Important: If you have made the kite turn two or three times to the
left, you must make it turn exactly the same number of times to the
right. In this way the lines are freed again and new figures can be
performed.
