Easy to use:
A boomerang can have two or more arms. The arms have a cross-section. The underside is flat or hollowed out, the upper side is domed. The correct grip is crucial for a successful throw. Hold the boomerang as loosely as possible, never with the whole hand. The thumb holds the upper side of the boomerang, the underside is held by the forefinger or by the forefinger and middle finger. The most common mistack: Sickling, e.g. the boomerang is thrown almost horizontally. Result: it soars powerfully, than crashes sleeply. It has to be thrown up almost vertically (or slightly inclines to the right depending on the model).
Before each throw, test from which direction the wind is blowing (with some grass). Only throw when the wind is light. Imagine you are standing in the middle of a clock, the wind is coming from 12 o'clock. Position yourself with the shoulder of the arm you are not holding the boomerang, in the throwing direction. Reach right back with the boomerang, without letting your wrist bend backwards. Then bring your arm forwards over your shoulder. Just before letting the boomerang go, let your wrist snap forwards. Do not let the jerk sideways. You must move your hand forwards as if between two invisible walls. Throw the boomerang parallel to the ground or at a slight angle upwards ( 0 – 10 degrees). Thrown properly, the boomerang will come back to you in a circle. Catch with both palms of your hands, not with your fingers. If the boomerang lands behind you, pay more attention to the wind. The direction of throw was too close to 12 o'clock. If the boomerang lands a long way in front of you, pay greater attention to the strenght and direction of the wind. The direction throw was too far away from 12 o' clock.
